About Our Challenge
In February, the Braai Recovery Unit — a group of well-intentioned, 40+ men in various stages of post-braai recovery — is taking on The Push-Up Challenge.
Our mission: 2,000 push-ups between 5–27 February 2026.
Our obstacles: age, gravity, and the memory of better fitness.
We’re pushing ourselves to raise awareness of mental health and to fundraise for Samaritans, whose life-saving work supports people at their lowest moments.
You can help by joining us or donating to the team. Your support helps Samaritans answer more calls for help — and keeps us accountable to actually finish the challenge.
Supporting Samaritans
Samaritans is the charity that prevents suicide through the power of human connection. Connecting people in crisis with trained volunteers who will always listen. People calling for change with those who need to listen. People who’ve been there before, with those struggling now.
Samaritans make sure there’s always someone to listen if you’re in crisis or feeling suicidal. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
By donating, you're helping someone with suicidal thoughts get help when they need it most.
