Ross Lawson

One day at a time

I'm completing 2,000 push-ups in 23 days to raise awareness of mental health and fundraise for Samaritans.

In the last year I had a lot of mental health issues myself, my depression and anxiety came back and I had an episode of psychosis. I am doing this challenge to show how powerful exercise is to battle mental health struggles, and to show even when you feel at rock bottom or life is getting too much and you can't go on, there is a way forward and ways to strengthen your mind.

Mental Health Services like Samaritans are so important because they show you that you're not alone and support you the best they can, it goes a long way to someone who feels like they are losing it or no one understands what they're going through.

Supporting Samaritans

Samaritans is the charity that prevents suicide through the power of human connection. Connecting people in crisis with trained volunteers who will always listen. People calling for change with those who need to listen. People who’ve been there before, with those struggling now.

Samaritans make sure there’s always someone to listen if you’re in crisis or feeling suicidal. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

By donating, you're helping someone with suicidal thoughts get help when they need it most.
